Driven by the "dual carbon" goals, all-vanadium redox flow energy storage technology, with its advantages of high safety, long cycle life, and flexible capacity expansion, is gradually becoming a key development direction in the large-scale energy storage sector. Particularly in scenarios such as oil depots, chemical industrial parks, and new energy peak shaving, all-vanadium redox flow energy storage systems can effectively enhance energy utilization efficiency and ensure stable grid operation. Recently, an all-vanadium redox flow energy storage project at an oil depot officially commenced construction, achieving multiple key technological breakthroughs in core equipment and system solutions, setting a new benchmark for the industry.

The project features the world's highest-power 125kW-class stack, and based on self-developed technology, it has deeply optimized the electrolyte flow field distribution and thermal management system under high current density conditions. Through innovative flow channel design and heat exchange solutions, it successfully addresses common issues in traditional high-power stack operation, such as localized overheating and uneven electrolyte distribution, significantly improving system operational stability and energy conversion efficiency, providing a solid foundation for the long-term stable operation of large-scale energy storage systems.

In terms of the circulation system, the project adopts Haifa's high-efficiency special acid-resistant circulation magnetic pump. Compared to traditional magnetic pumps, this product improves overall efficiency by over 15 percentage points, better meeting the operational demands of large storage tanks for high-speed, high-flow electrolyte circulation. Additionally, the pump features a leak-free magnetic drive structure and high-corrosion-resistant material design, enabling long-term adaptation to strongly acidic electrolyte environments, effectively reducing equipment maintenance frequency and operational costs. To meet the high safety requirements of all-vanadium redox flow energy storage systems, this circulation pump also offers characteristics such as low vibration, low failure rate, and stable operation, providing crucial support for the safe operation of the energy storage system.

Furthermore, the project provides long-term anti-corrosion solutions for storage tanks and related equipment, employing acid-resistant linings, anti-corrosion coatings, and special material structural designs to fundamentally address industry pain points such as equipment corrosion and short service life in strongly acidic electrolyte environments. The overall solution not only enhances system reliability but also improves the project's economic viability and safety.In the future, as-vanadium redox flow energy storage technology continues to mature, the coordinated development of high-power stacks, efficient circulation pumps, and long-life anti-corrosion will drive the energy storage industry toward higher efficiency, greater safety, and larger scale, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of new energy industry.
