The construction of Unit 4 of the Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant, undertaken by China Nuclear Industry Fifth Construction Co., Ltd., has achieved significant progress. Witnessed jointly by the owner, general contractor, and supervision units, the steel gate of the valve well for Unit 4 was smoothly lifted, allowing seawater to flow into the intake forebay, marking the successful completion of the milestone for water intake into the combined pump house of Unit 4. Water intake into the pump house is a critical milestone in nuclear power plant construction. The successful diversion of seawater into the plant's pump house signifies the connection of the unit's overall water intake supply chain, and it is a prerequisite for the commissioning and debugging of the plant's cold source system. After water intake is completed, commissioning and operation of utility systems such as the plant service water system, circulating water filtration system, and equipment cooling water system can be carried out in an orderly manner. At the same time, it creates the necessary conditions for ventilation and cooling, equipment heat dissipation, and facility linkage tests in key production areas such as the nuclear island building, electrical building, and safety building, ensuring the orderly connection and steady progress of subsequent system installation and commissioning. To ensure the smooth realization of this milestone, the Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant Project Department established a "Party Member Commando Team for Pump House Water Intake," leveraging Party leadership to drive construction breakthroughs. The team proactively coordinated with the owner, general contractor, supervision units, and civil construction parties, holding regular special coordination meetings to unify construction deployment, refine process arrangements, strictly control safety and quality, and resolve difficulties such as cross-operation coordination and process衔接. All staff members worked together with unity and collaboration to ensure the safe and efficient completion of the water intake task for the combined pump house of Unit 4.
