As the core platform of the flexible DC transmission system for deep-sea wind power, the offshore converter station undertakes the critical tasks of power collection, AC/DC conversion, and long-distance transmission, earning it the title of the "power hub" of offshore wind power. In this large-scale marine engineering equipment, chemical pumps also play an essential role. The offshore converter station operates long-term in environments with high salt fog, high humidity, strong winds and waves, and complex sea conditions, imposing extremely high requirements on equipment corrosion resistance, sealing reliability, and continuous operation capability. The platform's cooling system, seawater circulation system, fire protection system, drainage system, hydraulic system, and some chemical dosing systems all rely on the stable operation of highly reliable chemical pumps. Among them, the seawater circulation pump needs to transport seawater containing chloride ions over the long term, and the pump body and impeller typically require materials such as duplex stainless steel, super duplex stainless steel, or seawater corrosion-resistant alloys; pumps for the cooling system require stable flow rates and high operational efficiency to ensure safe heat dissipation for converter valves, transformers, and electrical equipment; dosing pumps and sewage pumps must adapt to corrosive media and impurity conditions to ensure the stable operation of the platform's auxiliary systems. The successful launch of this offshore converter station not only demonstrates China's manufacturing capability in offshore wind power equipment but also highlights the important value of high-end chemical pumps in new energy projects.
