Hangyang Shares: Successful Test of 90MPa Motor-driven High-pressure Liquid Hydrogen Pump

Title: "Hangyang Co., Ltd.: 90MPa Motor-Driven High-Pressure Liquid Hydrogen Pump Successfully Tested"
Customer Case: From Technical Bottlenecks to Breakthrough Verification in Hydrogen Energy Equipment Upgrades
Customer Profile and Pain Points
The hydrogen energy division of a major energy group in East China focuses on R&D of liquid hydrogen storage, transportation, and refueling technologies. Its core equipment—the high-pressure liquid hydrogen pump—has long relied on imports, with procurement cycles stretching up to 12 months and operational stability constrained by international suppliers' "black box" designs. In 2024, while advancing a 90MPa-class hydrogen refueling station demonstration project, the team discovered that the imported pump's seal life under low-temperature conditions (-253°C) was less than 200 hours, causing project acceptance delays and a 30% surge in operational costs. "We urgently need a self-controllable, long-term stable high-pressure liquid hydrogen pump solution; otherwise, the cost-reduction goals for the entire hydrogen energy industry chain will fall through," the division's technical director admitted during the initial investigation.
Solution and Implementation Process
Hangyang Co., Ltd.'s technical team addressed the customer's pain points by providing a 90MPa motor-driven high-pressure liquid hydrogen pump (designed for industrial-grade hydrogen energy storage and transportation scenarios, with internal validation completed in March 2025). This solution employs independently developed low-temperature seal structures and high-efficiency motor direct-drive technology, raising the localization rate of core components to over 95%. In January 2025, the two parties conducted a 45-day joint test at the Hangzhou Lin'an experimental base. The test simulated actual hydrogen refueling station conditions, including continuous start-stop cycles, variable load operations, and extreme low-temperature environmental impacts. Data showed that under a 90MPa outlet pressure, the motor efficiency remained stable above 92%, and the seal assembly operated for over 800 hours without leakage. "Hangyang's technical staff were on-site throughout, optimizing the control algorithm for the liquid hydrogen pump's start-stop logic, ultimately boosting the pump's response speed by 40%," said the customer's project lead. "They even shared some design parameters to help us build our own maintenance models."
Customer Benefits and Data Evidence
Through this test, the customer achieved breakthroughs in three areas:
Cost Reduction: The localized solution reduced the procurement cost per unit by approximately 25% compared to imported products, with spare part replacement intervals extended to over 800 hours.
Reliability Improvement: Under 90MPa pressure, the pump's vibration levels were 30% below industry standards, and the leakage rate was controlled within 0.01%.
Technical Autonomy: The customer has already completed the process design for three hydrogen refueling stations based on this pump, with commercial operations expected by the end of 2025.
"This test not only validated technical feasibility but, more importantly, demonstrated the competitiveness of domestic equipment in core hydrogen energy sectors," the division's technical director concluded.
